Methods of Future Teachers’ Independent Thinking Development at Choral Conducting Classes

The article describes actual aspects, methods and techniques aimed at improvement of future music teachers’ professional activity. It is revealed the content of the choral conducting classes, proved the efficiency of the process of development of students’ independent thinking due to the use of offered methods and techniques in the context of the following problematics. This evaluative and analytical work of the student is an indicator of conducting the formation of his skills. During the training at choral conducting classes the main challenge for students is mastering the skills of independent thinking. It is noted that for the best results it is advisable to use intensive learning methods. This way of training activity at choral conducting classes involves: studying professional literature on conducting and choral training; analysis of musical compositions (historical-biographical, musical-theoretical and vocal-choral); studying choral scores; working out music compositions and choral school repertoire practice. Experienced teachers use deductive methods that help students make progress and learn material independently. During the experimental work at the choral conducting classes should be adopted the following methods: the method of search orientation, the method of comparative characteristics, the method of problem-searching situations, the method of enhance creative thinking as well as the method of composition creativity, the method of shifting music, of capturing and stimulating voluntary activities. It is highlighted the ways of improvement in traditional methods of teaching, in particular intensive methods that encourage development of students’ independent thinking. It is given practical recommendations for the peculiarities of the use of recommended methods and techniques of teaching students at choral conducting classes.
