Method of projects in professional training of future teacher of musical art

The article characterises the essence of the concepts of “project activity” and “project method”. The functions of the use of project method in the professional training of future music teachers are determined, namely: analytical, exploratory, cognitive, integrative, developmental, communicative, organisational, reflective, evaluative, and practice-oriented ones. This article covers the algorithm of construction of group and individual projects by students, which contains descriptions of the following stages of project implementation: organisational and preparatory stage, technological stage, аnd summarysing one. Performance of group and individual projects by students in the process of pedagogical practice is described. We have found that the introduction of group and individual performance and creative projects
in the training of students of the Institute of Arts of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University allowed us to: organise research and self-educational activities of students; move from traditional classroom forms of learning to group and individual forms of independent cognitive activity; master the method of projects as a tool in solving self-development tasks; to promote executive and creative activity, to reveal and achieve internal potentials of each student in designing of professional activity, thereby promoting formation of professional competence.
